Steps of Faith

And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.

Luke 17:14 (NLT)

The Bible tells the story of ten lepers

who say Jesus making His way through their village.

They cried out, "Jesus! Have mercy on us!"

Jesus could have healed them right there on the spot,

but instead, He asked them to do something to express their faith.

He told them, "Go show yourself to the Priest ."

Those lepers were not supposed to be around other people.

They were commanded to live in colonies by themselves

because their disease was very contagious and incurable.

I imagine that they debated among themselves,

"Do you really think we should go see the Priest?

I don't look any better. My skin is not clear.

This trip to the Priest is just going to be a waste of time."

But they dared to put action to their faith.

They decided that if Jesus said to go see the Priest

that they would go see the Priest.

They took a step of faith and the Scripture says

that while they were on their way,

they were cleansed of their disease.

What is God telling you to do in your heart today?

Take a step of faith!

Follow that "holy hunch" that God has placed within you.

Put action behind your belief.

God is faithful.

As you step out and show your faith in Him,

He will open the door for His miracle-working power

to flood every area of you life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Heavenly Father, I choose to trust You.

I choose to be obedient to You.

Even when it doesn't make sense

to my natural mind,
