Living Faith

Just as the body is dead without breath,

so also faith is dead without good works.

James 2:26 (NLT)

Faith leads to action.

If we are not doing something that shows we believe God,

the Bible says that our faith is dead.

Dead faith will get you about as far in life as riding a dead horse.

It won't accomplish anything.,

Just as we must breathe regularly in order to live,

we must consistently give life to our faith through our actions.

It doesn't have to be anything big,

just something that shows your faith in Christ.

For example, at times we all get down and discouraged.

We pray, "God, please get me out of this mess.

Give me back my joy.

God, give me a new beginning."

Now, prayer is important,

but it is only part of the process.

Once we've prayed,

we need to do something about it.

We need to get back up,

dust ourselves off,

and say to ourselves,

"I'm not going to stay down.

This is the day the Lord has made!

I'm going to rejoice and be glad in it!"

That's putting action behind your faith.

Today, let your actions give life to your faith.

Show the world that you are trusting God's Word.

As you do, you will give life to your faith,

and you will step into new levels of His victory and blessing

in every area of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that builds

faith in my heart and refreshes my soul.

Today, I choose to put action behind my faith.

I choose to give life to my faith

so that You can accomplish Your will in me.
