The Extra Mile

If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.
Matthew 5:41

During the days of the Roman Empire,
a Roman soldier had the authority to require a person
to carry their armor for one mile.
After that mile, the soldier would have to find someone else
to carry their armor.

Jesus called His followers to go above and beyond the call of duty.
He told them to do more than was expected
and carry the armor two miles.
This is the same attitude that we should have today.

As followers of Jesus Christ,
we are called to be a people of excellence.
We are to go above and beyond in every area of our lives.

When the world looks at the people of God,
they should think, "Wow! They are people of integrity.
They outshine everyone else.
I want what they have."

The extra mile opens up the door to greater opportunity.
God rewards those who have an "extra mile attitude."

Are you a person of excellence?
Do you do more than what's expected,
or do you look for the easiest way out?
Do you just do the minimum requirement,
or do you go the extra mile?

Today, look for ways to go the extra mile.
Let your actions bring glory to God
and open the door for His blessing
in every area of your life.

Have a blessed & powerful day!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, today I choose an attitude of excellence.
I want my life to bring You all the glory.
Help me find creative ways to be a blessing
to those around me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
