Closer Than You Think

Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said,

“Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”

And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat,

and walked out through the stunned onlookers.

They were all amazed and praised God,

exclaiming, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!”

Mark 2:10b-12 (NLT)

Mark chapter 2 tells us about a paralyzed man

who had four friends.

Jesus was in their town, teaching at

another house and they knew

that He could heal this man.

The four friends carried their paralyzed buddy

on his bed to where Jesus was.

When they arrived at the house where Jesus

was teaching, they found it packed with people

who had gotten there before them.

The house was so full, that these

fellows could not get in.

Do you know what happened next?

Instead of giving up and going home,

these men were so determined to get

their friend to Jesus that they climbed

onto the roof, cut a hole in it,

and lowered this man down to were Jesus was!

They understood that you are closest to victory

when you face the greatest obstacles.

Many people would have just given up.

They would have seen the crowd and gone home--

even though they were just a few feet away

from their miracle.

Don't let that happen to you!

Don't give up because of the obstacles.

Don't let others discourage you

from seeing your miracle.

Keep pressing through today

because you are closer than you think

to the victory God has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Heavenly Father, today I release all my cares and anxieties to You.

I trust that my breakthrough is coming.

I choose to press in and stand strong.

I believe Your Word,

and I believe that You will reward me

as I diligently seek after You.
