Faith That Is Seen

When Jesus saw their faith,
he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven."
Luke 5:20

What gets God's attention?
He is not moved by our complaining and self-pity.
He isn't moved by our needs.
God is concerned about our needs,
He wants to meet our needs,
but our needs, on their own,
will not move God to action.

God's hand is moved by our faith.
We must invite Him to work in our lives
by exercising faith.

During His ministry on the earth,
many times, just before Jesus healed someone,
the Bible makes a statement like this:
"When He saw their faith...."

Can God see your faith?
What does a faith that God can see look like?

In the fifth chapter of Luke,
it looked like four men carrying
their paralyzed friend to Jesus.

For us today, it may look like this:
Getting to work a little earlier each day because you want that promotion.
By-passing the cookie jar and late night snacks because you want to lose weight.
Biting your tongue in order to keep the peace in your home.
Doing everything you can in order to get well.
Helping others even when you may need help more than they.

When God sees your faith extraordinary things begin to happen.
Faith opens the door for God to move on your behalf.
Take a step of faith today and watch the hand of God
move in every area of your life!

Have a blessed & powerful day!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of faith.
I choose today to exercise my faith and invite You
to move on my behalf.
Keep me close to You.
Search my heart and remove anything
that is displeasing to You.
I bless You today and always.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

  1. This post relates a lot to the main idea of Beth Moore’s “Believing God” Bible study where she says that God will work in our lives according to the measure of faith we show to Him. Thanks for sharing this!
