The Age of God's Favor

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
19to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
Luke 4:18-19

In the Old Testament, every 50 years
the people would celebrate what they called
the year of Jubilee.
It was a time of freedom and restoration.
Debts were cancelled.
Indentured servants were set free.
For most people, this was a
once-in-a-lifetime event.

But now, because of Jesus' work on the cross,
we don't have to wait 50 years to experience Jubilee.
We can live in Jubilee every single day!

When Jesus said, in Luke 4:19, they He had come
"to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,"
the word "year" also means "age."
Because of Jesus, those who trust in Him
are now living in an age of God's favor.

This means that we are currently living in an age of freedom.
God's desire is for you to be released from every bondage,
every debt and anything else that would hold you back.
This age of God's favor includes being released from sickness,
depression, addictions, and worry.
The age of God's favor means that
His work in our lives--His goodness to us,
should profusely abound!

Dwell on that for a moment or two.
God wants you to be free!
Surrender every area of your heart to Him
and watch the bondages of the past break off
of you so you can live in Jubilee in every area of your life!

Have a blessed & powerful day!
Kendall

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your favor, grace, and mercy upon me.
I know that You paid a precious price so that I can walk in freedom
and restoration in every area of my life.
I choose to receive everything You have for me
so that I can live in Jubilee.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Power of Agreement

"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth
agree about anything you ask for,
it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.
20For where two or three come together in my name,
there am I with them."
Matthew 18:19-20

Agreement is a vital spiritual principle.
The Bible teaches us that when two or more believers
agree on something,
that thing shall be established.

There is great power in agreement.
Another verse of Scripture tells us,
"How can two walk together unless they agree?"
In other words,
if we want to walk with God,
if we want to see His promises established in our lives,
if we want to live in His power,
we need to get into agreement with Him.
We must know what God says
and make our thoughts and actions line up with His.

The original Greek word for agreement is "symphoneo."
If you look at it carefully, you can see that it is also the word
from which we derive the English word "symphony."
In order for a group of musicians to be powerful,
they must play together in agreement.
That is... they must play the same song.

Spiritually, in order to walk in God's fullness of victory,
we must, in essence, sing the same song.
This means, that in order to experience God's promises and victory
we need to think it, believe it, and speak it.
We cannot go around thinking,
"Oh my breakthrough is never going to happen."
"Nothing works out for me."
"It's been too long, God has forgotten me."
That attitude will stop the power of agreement.
Instead of complaining,
get into agreement with God and declare,
"I know my breakthrough is coming!"
"I know God hears my prayers!"
"I am in agreement with Him and all
things are working for my good!"

Choose His words, thoughts and actions
and watch His promises come to pass in every area
of your life!

Have a blessed and powerful day!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, today I humbly come to You.
Search my mind and heart and show me
any areas of my life that are not in agreement with You.
I choose to align myself with Your Word
knowing that You have the best plan for me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dare to Believe

And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

Sometimes we are tempted to believe
that our needs and desires are inconveniences to God.
As a result, we settle for where we are in life
and seem to be content to endure our lives
rather than enjoy them.
Some people think they are being humble
by not asking God for anything.
But consider this:
Jesus paid a high price to give us abundant life!
He loves to hear us call on His name!

Today, let me encourage you to be bold
and dare to believe God.
Don't just think "survival"
when God is thinking "abundance."

As we believe bigger,
we'll see God act bigger in our lives!
When we step out in faith in a big way,
God does not say,
"Who do you think you are?
You have some nerve!"
Instead,
when we stretch out in faith,
it brings a smile to God's face.
He may very well say to the angels,
"Listen to what they are saying!
They believe I can do great things!
They believe I can turn any situation around!
They've got their trust and confidence in Me!"

The Scripture says that
our faith pleases God.
So take a step of faith today and dare to believe
that God will do the impossible in your life!

Have a blessed & powerful day!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, today I come boldly to Your throne of grace.
I believe that You are the rewarder of those who diligently seek You.
I thank You for working in my heart
and fulfilling my deepest desires.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Darkness Into Light

You are my lamp, O LORD;
the LORD turns my darkness into light.
2 Samuel 22:29

It's easy to believe when everything is going our way.
However, when life gets difficult and it seems that nothing is going our way,
that's when we can lose our joy, vision, and enthusiasm.
We may even find ourselves adopting the belief that life will never get any better.

During the challenging times of life,
we need to be proactive and do just the opposite.
Right in the midst of the adversity,
that's the time--more than ever--to expect a flood of God's favor;
a flood of healing,
a flood of vindication,
a flood of protection.

Our attitude needs to be:
"It may be dark but I know the God of breakthrough
is on the verge of turning things around!"
"My child may be off course,
but I know the God of breakthrough is
working to bring him back."
"Business may be slow,
but I'm anticipating the God of breakthrough
to release a flood of His favor,
a flood of new clients,
a flood of new sales,
a flood of promotion."

Remember:
you are in prime position to see
God's light come bursting in on your circumstance!
You are in prime position for God to give you
something to talk about!
Keep living breakthrough-minded
because He has victory in store for you today!

Have a blessed & powerful day!
Kendall

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the victory that You have in store for me.
I put my trust in You and choose to live breakthrough-minded.
Help me to guard my words and guard my heart
so I can stay positioned for everything You have in store for me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Light Dawns

Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.
Psalm 112:4

We all experience times in life that seem dark or heavy.
Perhaps you are going through something right now,
and you don't see how it could ever work out.
You are out of money.
The problems seem insurmountable.

If you will stay breakthrough-minded
and focused on what God can do,
His Word promises that the light will come bursting in.

God's light does not trickle in.
It is not going to barely get there.
Instead, like a flood,
like the breaking forth of waters,
it will come bursting in.
That means, suddenly, things will change in your favor.

When things seem dark,
don't start complaining.
Don't turn negative and sour.

Remember that God likes to do things suddenly.
Keep reminding yourself that the light is about to come bursting in!
It may be today, tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year.
But know this: your breakthrough is on the way!

Have a blessed & powerful day,
Kendall

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, I choose to focus on You.
I know that as I keep my heart and mind fixed on You
that Your light will drive out every bit of darkness in my way.
Thank You for directing my steps and keeping me close to You.
I love You!
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Talk About His Goodness!

Sing praises to the LORD,
enthroned in Zion;
proclaim among the nations
what he has done.
Psalm 9:11

God never intended for us to just drag through life defeated and discouraged.
It is not His intention for His children to go around with a negative attitude,
complaining, "I never get any good breaks.
I never get promoted.
My back has been hurting for the last decade."
Instead, we are supposed to declare His Word and watch it come to pass!

God wants to give you something to talk about.
He wants to overwhelm you in such a way that everywhere you go,
you talk about what God is doing in your life.
You tell your friends,
your neighbors,
your children,
your grandchildren
about the great things God has done for you!

Are you looking for His goodness?
The truth is that we tend to find what we are looking for.
I encourage you to choose an attitude of faith today.
Stop looking for the negative
and set your gaze on what is positive--
on what God is doing all around you!
Start talking about His goodness
and be a living testimony of all God has done.,

As you begin living with this
breakthrough-mindset,
God will show up and give you something to talk about!

Have a blessed & powerful day!
Kendall

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and grace.
Thank You for blessing me with life today.
I choose to have a thankful attitude
and to declare Your goodness everywhere I go.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Floods of Goodness

So David and his troops went up to Baal-perazim
and defeated the Philistines there.
“God did it!” David exclaimed.
“He used me to burst through my enemies like a raging flood!”
So they named that place Baal-perazim
(which means “the Lord who bursts through”).
1 Chronicles 14:11 (NLT)

Water is a powerful force.
Perhaps you've seen television footage of the floods
earlier this year in middle Tennessee.
Three or four feet of water can pick up a huge car
that weighs thousands of pounds
and move it all around.
I've seen news accounts of houses floating down a river
during big floods.
Nothing can stop the force of that water!
Anything that gets in its way will be moved!

David compared God's power to the bursting forth of a flood.
He was saying that when the God of breakthrough
shows up and releases His power,
it will be like a flood of His goodness,
a flood of His favor,
a flood of healing,
a flood of new opportunity.

Today you may be facing difficulties that appear too big,
obstacles that seem to be impassable,
dreams that look unobtainable.
Remember this:
when the God of breakthrough
releases a flood of His power,
nothing can stop it.
Get ready!
Not for a trickle,
not for a stream,
not even for a river.
Get ready for a flood of God's favor,
a tidal wave of His goodness,
a tsunami of His blessings!
Step out in faith and believe that God
is going to overwhelm you with victory
in every area of your life today!

Have a blessed & powerful day!
Kendall

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, I invite You to overwhelm me with You today.
Take over every area of my life:
my thoughts,
my attitude,
my body.
Flood me with Your healing,
favor and strength today
as I surrender all that I am to You.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Breakthrough

So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there.
“The LORD did it!” David exclaimed. “He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!”
So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who bursts through”).
2 Samuel 5:20 (NLT)

Have you ever watched your favorite football team battle
through a tough, closely contested game?
Imagine a defensive struggle where neither team can make any ground.
Then, all of a sudden, late in the final quarter,
your team's offensive line opens up a running lane,
the running back bursts through the opening
and runs all the way to the goal line
for a winning score.
That is a sports example of a breakthrough.

Spiritually, a breakthrough is simply a sudden burst of God's favor.
It is an explosion of His goodness,
when suddenly--seemingly out of nowhere--
God releases His power in such a way that it overwhelms you,
drives out your enemies, and delivers victory!

Maybe you've been praying about a child for years,
then suddenly, they get back on the right course.
That is a breakthrough.
Or perhaps you were trying to gain acceptance to a certain college.
They said they were full, but then suddenly, they call you back
and tell you that they have room for you.
That's another breakthrough.
Or you've struggled in your finances for a long time
then you get a good break or a promotion
and life is no longer a financial struggle.
These are all examples of breakthroughs.

No matter what you've been facing,
no matter how impossible things appear,
know this:
the God of breakthrough wants to visit your house!
Your part is to be faithful and ready--
just like that football team that kept playing
even though they felt they were getting nowhere.
Look for God's favor and goodness.
Remember:
God rewards the people who seek after Him.
So keep expecting and keep believing
because the God of breakthrough is ready
to overwhelm you with His goodness today!

Have a blessed & powerful day!
Kendall

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, today I am anticipating your goodness.
I am looking for Your favor.
I am trusting that You, the God of breakthrough,
are working mightily on my behalf.
Give me strength to live a life that is pleasing to You
as I wait for Your hand to move in my life.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
