Faith and Patience

We do not want you to become lazy,
but to imitate those who through faith and patience
inherit what has been promised.
Hebrews 6:12

When we sense in our spirit that God has promised us something,
we often feel like if that promise is not fulfilled quickly that it will never come to pass.
Sometimes we come to the conclusion that we did not hear from the Lord after all,
and sadly, at other times, we may decide that God doesn't keep His promises.

In the Bible, David was 17 years old when the prophet Samuel anointed him to be king.
He did not assume the throne until he was 30.
Odds are that during those 13 years there were many times when David was tempted
to think that he would never really be king.
He was probably tempted to get frustrated or even to feel like a failure,
thinking to himself, "God, did I really hear from You?
I thought You said You were going to do something great with my life,
but nothing is going my way."
Although David had been faithful, there were no signs that this promise was going to really happen.

Just like us today, David had to fight the same negative thoughts that bombard our minds;
thoughts that were saying to him,
"It's not going to happen."
"You did not hear from God."
"Just accept it and get on with your life."
David's greatest battles took place in his mind,

During these kinds of times, when it seems like you aren't getting any closer
to seeing your dream come to pass,
remember this:
the Scripture tells us that through faith and patience we inherit the promises of God.

Have a blessed & powerful day,
Kendall

A PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Heavenly Father, I humbly come to You, believing that You are working on my behalf.
I trust that Your Word is true and believe that through faith and patience,
I will see Your promises come to pass in my life.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
